PARCS prevention team work alongside young people in schools colleges and youth centres. The team use a variety of creative approaches working alongside young people on issues surrounding sexual and domestic abuse. The long term aim of the work is to prevent interpersonal abuse and violence by raising awareness and challenging the cultures that support the acceptance of abuse.
The prevention team will ensure that, where a young person discloses abuse, they are supported and signposted on to the appropriate service(s). This may include PARCS specialist counselling or 1:2:1 service. PARCS works within local safeguarding policies and procedures.
The prevention team also provide training and support to educate parents, teachers and youth workers regarding the incidence, impact and prevention of inter-personal abuse and violence.
